“Jin, jiyan, azadi!”
Azadeh Afarid, a brave student at Tehran University, is one of the leading voices in the Iranian student revolution. Her courage and determination to fight for a better future for her country are truly inspiring. Through the metaverse, I had the honor of speaking with her and learning about the challenges she and her fellow students face.
The Iranian student revolution is a grassroots movement that has been growing in momentum over the past few years. It is a response to the oppressive regime that has been in power for over four decades, which has consistently violated the basic human rights of Iranian citizens. The students are demanding fundamental freedoms, including the right to free speech and assembly, and an end to corruption.
During our conversation, Azadeh shared her experiences of being part of the movement and how the metaverse has played a crucial role in connecting her with like-minded individuals across the globe. The metaverse has allowed her to bypass the oppressive regime's strict control of the internet and connect with people who share her vision of a better future for Iran.
Azadeh is not alone in her fight, and the Iranian student revolution is a testament to the power of people coming together to demand change. Despite the risks involved, she and her fellow students continue to speak out and demand their rights, knowing that they are not alone in their struggle.
Our conversation left me feeling humbled and inspired by the bravery and resilience of Azadeh and her fellow students. It reinforced my belief in the potential of the metaverse to create a better world, one where people can come together to fight for a common cause, regardless of their physical location or identity. The metaverse has the power to connect us and break down barriers, and it is up to us to use it to create a more just and equitable society.
